Regentag auf Liebe Wellen

Filed under: Hundertwasser, socks, yarn — innimellom @ 7:42 pm

I truly enjoy working with yarn from the Opal Hundertwasser edition. Yarn inspired by art, funny, but it works. I have made a pair for myself in the Wartende Hauser (at: February 07, 2007), and now a pair for someone else in Regentag auf Liebe Wellen. I even got a third yarn waiting for me; Die Strasse zum Sozialismus. I mean – just trying to pronounce the names is a serious enterprise!

First sock finished in the beginning of March
The second not until the 10th of May
Not really summer socks, even though they look bright and brilliant…

slowing down a bit

Its spring, I know, but I still need some solid granite grey in my life.
Here represented through a shawl knitted in alpaca and edged by some very thin and fluffy mohair.

I think I like it – .

finished!

KPPPM + alpaca silk – feels lovely to the skin.
The color variation of KPPPM makes the process of knitting quite exciting, so I guess;
I will be chevron’ing again …
soon!

chevron’ing

Filed under: chevron, knitting, yarn — innimellom @ 6:47 am

I have to admit it; I’ve got a crush on KPPPM.
So here I go again; a new chevron – made of KPPPM + alpaca silk from Drops.
It’s much too sweet for me, but still – I really love the colors!

Promises of coming summer
This blackberry-coloured Dewberry shawl is already warming the shoulders of a very good friend of mine

kpppm

Filed under: yarn — innimellom @ 12:21 pm
I have been knitting –
socks for my father in law & a shawl for myself.
I’m gonna blog them soon.
Having finished two (small) projects I felt a strong need – almost a must – for new yarn.
And coincidentally … Purl NY was there to help me out.

So here is what I ordered:

KPPPM 830

KPPPM 721

KPPPM 113

mmm – .

My first pair of Jaywalkers should be here somewhere …

Here I am, knitting yet another pair of Jaywalkers, listening to the audio book version of The Miracles of Santo Fico by D. L. Smith

homeward-bound!

more on winter holiday knitting

Filed under: knitting, neck and shoulder warmer, yarn — innimellom @ 5:43 pm
All these resent posts are reports from my winter holiday, which took place in week 8. Right now it’s only work, and a tiny bit of blogging between the acts. But I still haven’t presented all I made weeks ago…

This neck and shoulder warmer is also based on a pattern in the Drops magazine (98-34). It’s made in silk-alpaca, a lovely and soft yarn. There isn’t as much elasticity in it as in pure wool, and one can easily see the masks. But I’m not sure it matters, I have decided it gives the piece an exclusive handmade look. It feels solid and warm around the shoulders. I have already given it to my mother, who took care of the dog while we were away – I guess I will have to make myself a new one.

winter holiday knitting

I have a nice catalogue from Drops, with different scarf, shawl etc patterns. I’ve tried several. Here is a bjørnebær-pattern shawl.

To those of you reading Norwegian/Danish/Swedish all the Garnstudio patterns are free on the net! Rather impressive!

and then there were two

Filed under: knitting, tri-peak hat, yarn — innimellom @ 9:51 pm

I think its sweet, even with some loose ends. It should always be viewed from the top like this …

The sweet one is getting a brother! This one in Noro Silk Garden (color ?) & Cash Iroha (7). I’m not quite as satisfied with these colors, but the yarn is much softer and nicer to the skin than Kureyon.

All in all it’s no too bad. It’s Boyish – I’ll just have to find a suitable man to wear it – .

And here they are, in their proper element – lots of snow and minus 18 degrees cent.
